Land speed record broken on the Burwood Link bridge

Student Contribution: Ruby Evans

History has been made this week, after our very own Deakin Law third-year student Jasmine broke Usain Bolt’s land speed record running across the Burwood Link bridge. We spoke to her earlier this morning.

“I don’t really get what all the fuss is about.. actually it was quite stressful.” We were taken aback by her humility.

“No you don’t understand. I needed to speak with my tutor after my class in Building B - next thing I know I had 3 minutes to get to class in Building LC. Thankfully I made it, but I don’t know what came over me!”

Jasmine has stunned scientists all over the world, and says her phone has been blowing up like crazy.

“Now I get calls from AIS and Athletics Australia wanting me to train with them. They even said they might be able to pull some strings so that I can compete in Paris.”

We’ll make sure to provide updates on Jasmine’s journey to the Olympics. However, for now she says her heart’s set on passing exams this Trimester.
