<p><strong> </strong>The Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal is an independent tribunal which reviews, on the merits, a wide range of decisions made by Commonwealth Ministers, officials, authorities and other tribunals.  The Tribunal has jurisdiction under some 400 enactments.</p>
<p>The Tribunal seeks applications from interested persons for a temporary vacancy in its Melbourne Office for a period of 12 months, which subject to PS  regulation 3.6, may be extended.  The duties will include: undertaking legal research which may include case law research, monitoring of legislation and preparation of case summaries; assisting with the preparation and legal editing of Tribunal orders, decisions and reasons for decision; preparing catchwords and summaries of reasons for decisions; drafting directions and interlocutory orders and providing administrative support, including pre-hearing liaison with parties and acting as a Tribunal attendant.</p>
<p>A c<strong>ompleted or substantially completed</strong> recognised degree in Law is <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>MANDATORY</strong></span>.</p>

Essential to the &#8216;Experience&#8217; promise, an Internship at Deakin will provide students an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience whilst applying knowledge and theory gained during the course of their studies.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My name is Shai and, as president, I would like to warmly welcome you to the Deakin Law Students’ Society’s website. Both the committee and I have been working hard over the summer to ensure a successful and fruitful year in 2013. We are very excited to welcome all new Deakin Law students and to welcome back any returning students.</p>
<p>The Deakin Law Students’ Society (DLSS) is one of the biggest students’ societies in Deakin University and arguably one of the larger voluntary student organisations within Victoria. The DLSS works hard to ensure that the voice of our students is being heard, that the unique needs of each undergraduate Deakin Law students are being met. Our mission is to teach every student the importance of life balance – knowing how to study hard and how to have fun. We seek to achieve our mission through various academic, career and social orientated events and publications. The DLSS is split into 6 portfolios all of which focus on providing the best possible experience for our law students:</p>
