The Deakin Law Student Society’s Annual General Meeting will be held on the 25th September 2018.
If you are interested in or just curious about the workings of committee, join us to hear an overview of the year’s achievements and to elect a new executive. Joining the committee is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends within your degree, run events and initiatives to assist law students, and network with Melbourne’s top law firms. We gladly welcome newcomers to apply for an executive role. Officer positions will be appointed in the following months.
Individuals who are interested in becoming a Director for the 2019 DLSS Committee must fill out the provided form with a maximum of two nominations allowable. One week before the AGM all nominations will close and the candidate’s statements will be published on the DLSS Website. On the day of the AGM all nominees will then give a 2-3 minute speech on why they should be elected. Each candidate may be asked questions by the audience on their suitability for the role. Voting will commence at the AGM after the speeches have been heard for a particular role. The successful nominee will be announce on the day of the AGM once voting has been counted by the Returning Officer.
